Blog 7: Frohes Neues Jahr 2018- Leben wie ein Stehaufmännchen

English Version Am Silvesterabend schossen mir Tausende von Gedanken durch den Kopf. She posted a photo of the two of us smiling and hugging, which was taken just a couple of days ago during her 6th wedding anniversary. Under the photo she commented: “When I had just moved to this city 8 years ago, it was this girl who helped the lonely me find my other half. (Her original wording was actually more implicative. The word for word translation should read: “It was just this girl who helped the lonely me…

Blog 6: Learning to Draw on the Right Side of the Brain

German Version When I started drawing portraits I was very lucky to come across Betty Edwards’ book ”Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain“ online by chance. I was inspired and still am enthused by her theory. For me Betty Edwards is the best art teacher ever. Her theory didn’t only help me to draw, but also open my eyes to the details normally ignored and forgotten and see the world from a totally new perspective.  With the help of her book ”Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain“ I understood how important it is to SEE and learned how to SEE like an artist. (To get to…
