Blog 14: My Discovery about the Painter
In English both the artist who paints pictures and the skilled worker who paints the wall are called “painter“. I just tried it myself some weeks ago and found out that it really makes sense. They are very similar. Drawing and painting a wall both need similar hardware: brushes, colours, a base (no matter a cardboard, canvas or a wall panel). The quality of the material is very important and has an impact on the final work. Both require the same Software: a painter’s sense of colour, skill in handling the brushes and other painting tools, patience, as well as a level of expertise in design and attention to detail. This was…

Blog 6: Learning to Draw on the Right Side of the Brain
German Version When I started drawing portraits I was very lucky to come across Betty Edwards’ book ”Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain“ online by chance. I was inspired and still am enthused by her theory. For me Betty Edwards is the best art teacher ever. Her theory didn’t only help me to draw, but also open my eyes to the details normally ignored and forgotten and see the world from a totally new perspective. However, some well-known stars have worn T-shirts with prints such as „VAMP“, „Hustler“ or „social butterfly“ on TV or openly without realising what kind of wrong image they were portraying to the public and their fans. When I came to Europe I started seeing various tattoos using Chinese characters. Some of them were so strange that I didn’t know whether to laugh…

Blog 3: The Clouds and the Sea
I just had a nice cruise on a ship to a number of islands with my family and totally fell in love with the clouds and the sea. Clouds change their shape all the time and have much more colours than I thought: other than white and cream they contain grey, pink, red, purple, beige and even gold… And I never thought that the sea looks so various at different times of the day and that the sea blue contains so many contrasting blues. I will learn how to paint the clouds and the sea and hope that one day I can paint them as vividly as they are in…
